Is FireFox really this popular?
I was checking my analytics last night and noticed something I have never noticed before. Eight Five percent of my visitors use FireFox. Wow!
I haven’t checked browser stats in awhile, but the last time I did it was completely backwords. Internet Explorer was always by far the most widely used browser.
What has changed? Is FireFox really doing that great of a job in spreading the word? Is their browser just that much better?
I personally use FF 99% of the time, but really only because I don’t want my wife messing with my browser. So, I just left IE for her and started using FF all the time.
Is anyone else noticing similar statistics?

Firefox rocks any browser, but I think it’s because sites base their coding on Firefox now. Any other browser will mess up the theme.

I have seen similar trends over and over! My stats keep indicating that, of the people that visit my blog, they overwhelmingly use Firefox. I too was amazed.
Nice picture of the “check” by the way! Ha.
Thanks, I was wondering if anyone had caught on to the little “prank.”
I think Firefox is more popular among people ‘in the know’ – thankfully IE is becoming more the tool of large enterprises (where the IT dept needs to apply certain policies or whatever) and those who don’t know any better.
It’s great to see though!
Just checked and noticed on my content rich Web sites, still up to 69% of my visitors use IE (travel and home biz related). Though on my blog, yup, the majority are FF users up to this point (FF 59%, IE 36%).
Maybe FF is a blogger’s private love? 😉
@ Mike, sometimes I still discover a bunch of sites that seem to code exclusively for IE. Silly, I know. Some even state their system (or whatever they offer) only works properly in IE. Perhaps the majority of *their* visitors (80+%?) still use IE?
BTW, I, too, am hoping for more popularity for Firefox since that browser rocks! lol
