I have put it off long enough.
I remember years ago when I was trying to get our church website up and going. I had this girl from our church who knew “a little” html and css set up our website. It was ok, but not exactly what I wanted, so I decided to stop putting it off and learn html, css and website design. I am so glad I did.
Back in those days I was using Adobe GoLive. What a learning tool that turned out to be. I would do something in the wysiwyg editor and then see the code it produced. That process and a lot of reading is what got me to where I am today.
Taking that time to learn those things has really paid off for me. 99% of my business is generated from the website that I built for my business.
So, as the title suggests, I have decided to stop putting it off and learn PHP. Alot of the website projects that I have in mind are going to require PHP or an equivalent language. I already do a lot of cutting and pasting of code with PHP, so I just need to get off my lazy bum and learn it. I am sure it will pay off.
I am pretty excited about it, but I just wish I knew where to start. I guess I am going to start with all the free stuff I can get my hands on. I will probably only buy something when it comes very highly recommended.
What have you been putting off?
