One of the new Blogs I read.

If I haven’t already mentioned it, I am sort of addicted to blogs. Blogging has become somewhat of a recent phenomenon. It’s not just the content that I am addicted to. I like to see what motivates people to write on a daily basis. Why did they start blogging and why do they keep blogging?

Anyway, a great new blog that I ran across recently is DevDad.com – Stay at Home Dad, Geek Style. As the title suggests Mike has recently become a stay at home Dad. He and his wife decided that with the cost of daycare, the quality of daycare, etc.. that it made more sense for him to stay at home during the day and watch their little girl.

Mike also manages to get some work done as well. He is a self-proclaimed web designer and SEO specialist. He talks about juggling family and work and how he is able to accomplish both.

I can surely empathize with Mike. I know what it’s like needing to spend some time at the computer while fighting off a four year old hanging on your neck (as I speak).

I can also understand why Mike and his wife made the decision to take their little girl out of daycare. My son is almost four and we never could send him to daycare. My wife quit work three months after he was born and started keeping him at home. It was a tough decision and we have had to sacrifice, but I couldn’t stand the thought of letting someone else raise my child 8-10 hours a day for 5 days a week. No amount of money is worth that in my book. So Mike, I applaud you and your wife on your decision.

You might also want to get in on Mike’s most recent giveaway – Stay At Home Dad Digital Camera Give-Away.
